
South America will have a new Olympic representatives by Sunday as Uruguay and Argentina prepare to meet for a ticket to the Games |
Sante Fe, Argentina, June 2nd, 2012 - The CSV Women's Beach Volleyball Continental Cup final was officially opened on Saturday with the press conference and general meeting held in Santa Fe, Argentina.
The hosts are set to clash with Uruguay at Triferto Beach on Saturday and Sunday for a ticket to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The two delegations met to discuss the details of the tournament, which can watched on local TV and online at www.tycsports.com.ar
"Thanks to the organisation and especially the broadcasting of this event for all those who could not come from our country to watch the games," Uruguay player Fabiana Gomez said. "We are waiting to play and win."
"On behalf of my colleagues I thank the Federation for all they have provided," veteran Argentinean star Ana Gallay said. "We have done well, we have received big support and that made us happy. We are like sisters to the Uruguayans but obviously want to be in London and we will do our best to get there."
After the conference, the organisers and the Control Committee jointly with delegations held the general meeting, which provided organisational and sporting details for the matches to be played over the weekend.
