Gisenyu, Rwanda, May 22, 2012 - The charming shores of Rwanda’s Palm Beach in Gisenyu is set to host the CAVB Women’s Beach Volleyball Continental Cup finals set to be held from May 24 to 26 as seven countries battle it out for a berth to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The hosts welcome Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Mauritius, Congo RDC and Algeria with one ticket to the Great British capital on offer.
This will be the second Continental Cup event that Palm Beach will have hosted after the same venue welcomed one of the sub-zonal phases in October 2010. However, the CAVB Control Committee has introduced new lay-out of the venue which will allow better accessibility to the public and also for media.
The eventual champions of the Continental Cup finals will secure a ticket for the Olympic Games, joining the South African men's team who previously qualified in Mauritius in April.
