
Brazil celebrate the point as they beat Bolivia 4-0 in their pool match on Sunday |
La Paz, Bolivia, October 25, 2010 - Brazil secured their place in the second phase of the South American Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in both the women’s and men’s editions on Sunday after elimination Bolivia at home in La Paz.
Brazil won all four points in both categories but despite the loss the Bolivian players described playing against Brazil as a great experience.
Agatha Bednarzuck and Rachel Pellucci secured the first victory on the final day in the women’s competiton, beating Bolivia’ Marisol Paccieri and Dayana Rodriguez Paccieri 2-0 (21-16, 21-12) before Priscilla Taiana Lima beat Claudia Arancibia and Dulce Reynolds in straight sets (21-11, 21-10) to seals the pool win.
In the men’s tournament Brazil’s Julio Nascimento and Luciano de Paula defeated Robin Lelarge and Hamid Chipunavi 2-0 (21-11, 21-18) while compatriots Oscar Brandao and Francisco Rodriguez overcame the Bolivian pair Daniel Calvo and Mauricio Heredia in straight sets (21-13, 21-15).
