Venezuela, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay qualify for final round of CSV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup

After four days of competition, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay qualified for the final stage of the London 2012 Olympics Games qualifying competition
Santiago, Chile, November 27, 2011 – After four days of competition and 40 games, Venezuela finished on top of the CSV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup standings and with Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, qualified for the final stage of the London 2012 Olympics Games qualifying event on Sunday.

Venezuela earned their victory thanks to an impressive record of 14 wins and only two defeats and a total of 30 points. Brazil and Chile were tied on 25 points, but second place went to Brazil who had a better set average, while Uruguay with 24 points won the last place for the final stage of the Continental Cup.

In an unrecognizable performance, cousins Grimalt of Chile lost to Venezuela's Hernandez/Villafane (21-16, 21-16). However, in the afternoon, supported by nearly 3,000 local fans, they recovered to beat Igor Hernandez and Farid Mussa (21-11, 29-27).

Harley and Evandro of Brazil beat Uruguayans Renzo Cairus/Federico Corbo (21-13, 21-9) and Julio Bardales-Javier Lecaro of Ecuador (21-11, 21-16).

Uruguay's Nicolas Guillermo Zanota Williman in a demonstration of sensational play achieved  an important victory over Ricardo Brandao and Julio Cesar of Brazil (19-21, 22-20, 15-8).
