In  Alba Adriatica the sea is ideal for those who like peaceful depths gradually descending offshore and for its waters, among the clearest of Adriatic Sea. Plenty, however, are the entertainments for those who are fond of water sports like sailing and windsurfing and many are the swimming schools all over the shore.

The beach of Alba Adriatica is among the most beautiful of the seaside cost in Abruzzo. Made of white sand, it is up to one hundred meters wide and three kilometres long. You may choose among full equipped beaches, free beaches but always well cleaned and the pinewood beach, where you breath the atmosphere of a Mediterranean island.

The promenade in Alba Adriatica is like an oasis which stretches for three kilometres, immersed in the green of palms, pine-trees and oleanders. Located between the beach and the seafront, it is ideal for relaxing bicycle rides or jogging. In the evening, it becomes the best places where walking, tasting an ice-cream, meeting friends or browsing around the stalls.

Besides hotels and guest-houses, which pay special attention to their cuisine, Alba Adriatica features a  long list of restaurants and pizzerias, where you may taste typical dishes of local cuisine as well as the tasty seafood from the Adriatic Sea. Alba Adriatica is renowned for its valuable leather goods. Handbags, suitcase and small leather accessories are the pride of handicraft traditions which succeeded even in the world of high fashion.

With the women's 2005 SWATCH-FIVB World Tour taking a week off, the FIVB has sanctioned two Satellite events for this weekend in France and Italy. Both events are mixed gender tournaments that are being held in France at St. Jean de Monts and in Italy at Alba Adriatica. This weekend's events also mark the first FIVB tournaments for the two sites. The two Satellite events are the second and third non-open events on the 2005 women's schedule after Thailad hosted the first stop at the end of February.
