Tenerife, Spain, 17 June, 2001 - Emanuel-Tande (BRA) had convincing victories in both their semi-final match against Child-Heese (CAN) and in the final against Laciga-Laciga (SUI).

Emanuel-Tande took only 40 minutes to defeat Child-Hesse 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) in the first semi-final and only 31 minutes to win the championship from Laciga-Laciga 2-0 (21-19, 21-14).

This was a very successsful beginning to the new partnership of Emanuel-Tande who will now wear the gold jerseys in the next weekend's FIVB World Tour Open in Gstaad, Switzerland.

In the other semi-final match today Laciga-Laciga defeated Baracetti-Conde (ARG) 2-1 (19-21, 21-11, 15-13).

Baracetti-Conde (ARG) managed to win the bronze medal against Child-Heese 2-0 (21-15, 25-23).
