|FIVB registered Beach Volleyball players are free to play in any tournament abroad recognised by a National Federation when that tournament does not conflict with another FIVB official event. Players do not need to go through any international transfer procedure and there is no need to pay a transfer fee. However, players need to have a letter of authorisation from their National Federation and must comply with the regulations for each respective National Circuit issued by the
organisers. Obviously, any limitation concerning the number of foreign players allowed to take part in a National Circuit remains the responsibility of the competition's
In case of conflicting dates and with previous consent of the promoter of the tournament concerned, FIVB may still authorise up to four foreign players from the top 10 in the Individual World Ranking and four more among the lower ranked players, to take part in another event.
The top 32 men and women players in the World Ranking can participate in the National Circuit of a country hosting a World Tour event only 23 days before or after the finals of the World Tour event. This period may be shortened/cancelled upon agreement of the World Tour promoter of the concerned country and the FIVB.
Players playing abroad in infringement of these rules will be declared ineligible for FIVB official competitions, including Olympic Games and World Championships.
The above rules are valid only for National Circuits officially recognised by the FIVB. In consequence, National Federations organising a National Circuit are requested to inform the FIVB about their respective calendar (places and dates) and regulations in order for FIVB to grant them official recognition.
