  Myslowice  2008   Women's Open
02.09.2008 -  07.09.2008

PRESENTATION

After Staging Junior Championships, Myslowice Hosts SWATCH-FIVB World Tour Women's "Open"

After hosting U-21 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships in 2006 and the U-19 world finals in 2007, Myslowice entertains the top women’s Beach Volleyball players in the world. Poland joins China, France and Norway in hosting two SWATCH-FIVB World Tour events in 2007. Myslowice is one of nine new sites in 2008 on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour calendar along with Adelaide (Australia), Guaruja (Brazil), Sanya (China), Prague (Czech Republic), Osaka (Japan), Moscow (Russia), Barcelona (Spain) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates).   Polish junior world champions Katarzyna Urban and Joanna Wiatr posted their country’s best SWATCH finishes with 17ths in 2006 and 200. Urban and Wiatr captured the gold medal at the 2004 U-18 SWATCH-FIVB World Championships in Termoli, Italy.  Pictured below (left to right) are Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca of Brazil, and Urban and Wiatr of Poland.  Located in the Upper Silesia region of Poland, Myslowice was a crossroads in the era of the German, Austro-Hungarian and Russian empires.  Myslowice has a population of around 75,000, is home to various international companies and has excellent international transport connections by road, rail and air.
