  Kristiansand  2007   Women's Open
08.08.2007 -  11.08.2007

Kristiansand and the region, Sørlandet, has long been a well kept secret guarded by Norwegians. This is where they themselves come in search of recreation and adventure. The climate is temperate, the villages are idyllic, the woods are green and lush, the inland is mountainous and majestic and the locals are friendly and hospitable. Sørlandet is a region that invites its visitors to unfold themselves and enjoy life.

Sørlandet" is the term applied to the cultural region of the twin counties of Aust and Vest Agder, and here you can enjoy life to the full. The key words for the region are summer, sun and happy holidays. Young or old  everyone simply has happy memories from a holiday in Sørlandet, and what is more visitors always come back.

The South of Norway invites you to enjoy a unique holiday experience. And one that you will not find anywhere else in the world ! The coastline of the South of Norway (or Sørlandet) consists of one long chain of idyllic islands and skerries. The region boasts the highest number of recorded hours of sunshine in Norway. Sightseeing boats spend the long summer cruising past a backdrop of white houses, white sails and white gulls. You will also discover a whole range of activities like elk safari, salmon fishing and rafting - and all amid extraordinary countryside.

Kristiansand and Sørlandet can offer a wide variety of culinary temptations. The proximity to the ocean enables us to offer you fresh fish and other shellfish dishes. The Fish Market in Kristiansand is well worth a visit whether you are only looking for a bag of fresh shrimp, or a three-course dinner.

In our numerous international kitchens you can enjoy amongst other things: spicy Mexican food, Italian inspired food, American inspired food and Indian and Chinese food.

Our many cafes are influenced by trends from all over the world. In them it is possible to obtain simple dishes such as bagels, soups, tapas, pasta and pizza. During the summer season, most restaurants have outdoor service.
