| Competition
Formula |

The tournament will consist of a qualification
tournament and a Main Draw. 4 Wild cards
for each gender event.
Country
quota: 1 team for each nation and 2 teams
for host country. At the qualification
tournament, a maximum of 16 teams will
allowed to enter. Among them the 4 top
ranked teams will advance to the main
draw. The Main Draw will be composed of a
Preliminary Phase and a Final Phase.
Preliminary
phase (Round robin - 24 teams per each
gender)
Six Pools of 4
teams each.
The preliminary
phase will be played with the round robin
system.
Final
phase (Direct elimination - 16 teams per
each gender)
The best 2
teams of each group plus the best four
pair ranked 3rd with the best
point ratio will advance to the 16 teams direct
elimination bracket.
Seeding and
detailed information on the competition
will be distributed to athletes during the
Technical Meeting and available on the
FIVB and the promoter’s web site.

One
team per country through nomination of the
National Federation.
Host
country can enter a maximum of 2 teams.
Notes:
1.
Priority to be given to:
a) The
NFs promoting World Tour events
b)
The
countries with athletes featured in the
FIVB World Ranking.
c) NFs
promoting continental events and grass
roots activities.
2.
Each
continent will be guaranteed one
team.
3.
The
2001 World Championships Under 21 in
France event’s ranking may also be taken
into consideration for entry purposes.
