| THAILAND, Bangkok |
The FIVB is proud to
present its first International event of the season,
the 2005
Mazda FIVB Beach Volleyball
Satellite,
that will be held
this month in
the heart of Bangkok
right next to the Robinson
Department Store, which is
located in the very central
part of the city.
The beach volleyball stadium is purpose-built for the
tournament and can seat 2,500 spectators. The official
Hotel for players is the 4-star Emerald Hotel, which
is located just a 3 minute walk away from the stadium.
Transportation from the Emerald hotel
to the shopping and commercial districts of Bangkok is
easy as the newly-opened subway system passes the
hotel, with the nearest station sited opposite
the Department Store.
Bangkok has many exciting things to
visit such as the Grand Palace, the Emerald
Budhha, the Temple of Dawn, Crocodile farms, Mini-Siam,
Riverboat Tours and the
Sunday Market.
Bangkok is also well known
as a shopper’s paradise, Robinson and the stores near
the stadium offer a wide range of quality products,
while in the city center,
there are many shopping malls and stores selling both
local and imported brands.
Outside of Bangkok there
is also much to do and a
plethera of interesting places
to visit within one day,
such as the beach resort of Pattaya, Kanchanaburi and
the Bridge over the River
Kwai, the
famous Rose Garden Resort as
well as the floating market.
